On April 24, 2022, CNEx issued the Guideline of China Compulsory Certification (CCC) Implementation Rule on Explosion Protected Electrical Product (Ex product) that is valid from May 1, 2022 onwards.

This Guideline is prepared by CNEx in accordance with the China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rule on Explosion Protected Electrical Product (CNCA-C23-01:2019) and the CNCA Notice on Clarification of Requirements for Standards of Compulsory Product Certification of Explosion Protected Electrical Products. (No. 6 of 2022), as a supporting document of the Implementation Rule. The copyright of the Guideline belongs to CNEx. Any organization or individual shall not use the Guideline in whole or in part in any form without CNEx’s permission.

Main changes in the third edition of the Guideline: the sections of unit classification, acceptance process and the content of Annex 4 and Annex 5 have been revised and Appendix B in Annex 3 has been deleted.

Main changes in the fourth edition of the Guideline:

  1. Revised Chapter 2 the standards of Certification.
  2. Revised Annex 1 Principles for unit classification of certified product.
  3. Revised Annex 2 Factory Definition Code of Ex Electrical Products and Principles of Factory Inspection Coverage
  4. Revised Appendix A in Annex 3 for information of specific explosion protected types, added in Appendix B with verification criterion of non-measurable access elements as overall type of protection
  5. Revised Annex 4 Requirements of Testing in Factory Quality Control for CCC Ex
  6. Revised Table 5 in Annex 5 List of Key Components and Materials, and Control Requirements of Periodic Confirmation Inspection

The fourth edition of the Guideline valid from May 1, 2022.

This Guideline is based on CNCA-C23-01:2019 “China Compulsory Certification Implement Rule on Explosion Protected Electrical Product” (hereinafter referred to as CCC Ex) and is issued by CNEx. The Guideline provides supplementary material to the CCC Ex. It shall be read in conjunction with, CNCA-00C-003 “China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rule on Classification Management of Manufacturing enterprises, Selection and Determination of Certification Modes”, CNCA-00C-004 “China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rule on Use of Testing Resources and Other Certification Results of Manufacturing enterprises”, CNCA-00C-005 “China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rule on Factory Quality Assurance Ability Requirements”, and CNCA-00C-006 “China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rule on General Requirements for Factory Inspection”. The product scope and applicable standards (including the version of the standard) to the implementation rules are kept the same in line with the standards announced and published on the website of the National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA), on which the new status of product catalogue is released.
